Three authors to sign books at Lavender Moon
Three Kona authors will showcase their newly published books from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Lavender Moon Gallery, 79-7404 Mamalahoa Highway in Kainaliu.
Patricia Missler’s book, “Pink Elephants and Chocolate Eclairs, Memoir of A Border Town Chica (girl),” takes readers on a stroll through her life as a first generation Mexican-American.
Mary J. Park, winner of the 2009 Hawaii Writers Conference Prose Writing Competition, will present “38 Chestnuts,” her novel exploring the lasting legacy of the Korean War on its survivors through points of view of three generations of a Korean American family.
Suzanne Bearth’s creation is “Suzanne’s Edible Art Cookbook, Recipes &Artwork created with Aloha.” She will also be creating a gingerbread house to be given away as a door prize at the conclusion of the event.

Annual Joann Williams Craft Fair to be held
The 32nd Annual Joann Williams Christmas Treasures Art, Gift, &Craft Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel.
This free event features vendors from all over Hawaii selling exclusive items for holiday shopping. Some of the crafts and gifts featured are Arbonne, baby items, Kona coffee and ornaments.
Door prizes will be given away throughout the fair and a silent auction will be held. This event is designed to promote Island artists and craftspeople and several non-profit organizations.
